To fulfill a “Callout to Photographers” for bee shots and the like, I contacted several bee-removal service companies in the San Diego County area. Thankfully, Geoff Kipps-Bolton and Greg Ruth from San Diego Bees where willing to allow me access, thanks again guys.

To fulfill a “Callout to Photographers” for bee shots and the like, I contacted several bee-removal service companies in the San Diego County area. Thankfully, Geoff Kipps-Bolton and Greg Ruth from San Diego Bees where willing to allow me access, thanks again guys.
Not having any idea what to expect I showed up to the apiary
and put on a beekeepers suit, the only thing that I didn’t have was a pair of
gloves. No worries right? After a couple of stings I was given some
gloves that they found in the truck.
Anyway, after finding a way to manipulate the shutter button
and adjust the focal length of my lens through the thick leather, I was able to
get some nice shots. For educational information
